In December 2018 Ultra – MTS was awarded a contract with its Chinese partners CREEC and KSEC to deliver a PRT system for the new International Airport at Chengdu, Sichuan.

The new airport will have a capacity of 90 million passengers a year. The PRT system is 4.1 km in length, with 22 pods, connecting 4 multiple berth stations. The system is expandable, and could be used to connect the Aerotropolis city being constructed nearby.
